Can we fix it?

Yes we can
After playing with Daddy's drill and watching me put up some pictures, George got a taste of DIY! He wanted to have a go at hammering nails in to the wall with 'Daddy's Hammer. I couldn't think of how he could do this without making unnecessary holes in the walls so I took an idea I had seen online and set up a DIY activity for him using a hammer, nails and polystyrene.
He started off by putting the nails in the foam.
He used 'Pat' his Handy Manny hammer to bang them in. This entertained him for a while but he soon wanted "Daddy's Hammer"
Using his hand eye co-ordination skills, he gently knocked the nails into the foam.
He concentrated on not "banging fingers". He told me " we have to be careful or we might get a poorly finger".
You can see how much he is concentrating, the tell tale sign is the tongue sticking out!
Still concentrating hard........

Once he had hammered all the nails in he asked to use the saw.
He moved the saw back and forth using his Gross Motor Skills.

After finishing his sawing he got the hammer out again. This time he used a spanner with it. He used loads of language during this imaginative play.

This play encouraged George to use his skills in Communication Language and Literacy. He was talking a lot about what he was doing and what he wanted to do. Manipulating the tools and equipment stimulated both Gross and Fine Motor Movement and therefore his Physical Development. The imaginary play that occured during this activity stimulated his Creative Development.
